Prof. Moshe Dov Caspi, a man of vision and practice, a pioneer and path-finder in the field of education in Israel, is awarded the EMET Prize for his educational theories and projects. By implementing his theories he introduced creativity as a concept that may be translated into action. The school he founded, Hanisui, was pioneering and ground-breaking for all democratic, humanistic and open schools. His work introduced models of combined and interdisciplinary learning to the education system.

Prof. Batsheva Kerem is awarded the EMET Prize for her scientific contribution to understanding the genetic mechanisms of common hereditary diseases, for her vital collaboration in identifying the gene responsible for CF and for understanding the molecular basis of the disease, for her significant contribution to the study of fragile sites in the human genome and their involvement in various diseases and for her crucial role in public activities for the promotion of human genome research in Israel.

His scientific work has won him many awards, including the Glasberg Research Award by the Scientific Council of the Weizmann Institute, the Teva Prize for Life Sciences and the Landau Prize for Science and Research. He was visiting professor in universities and institutes around the world and is a member of various international organizations and societies in his field.
